Living Well (Parkinson's Disease)
This program aims to assist people with Parkinson's disease and other related neurological conditions, learn strategies to stay strong, move easily, prevent falls and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Each individual is assessed by the rehabilitation consultant and physiotherapist prior to commencing the program.
The program involves 1 hour of exercise and 30 minutes of education, twice weekly for 8 weeks.
The hour of exercise includes strength training and movement sequencing training.
On completion of the program we anticipate that you will achieve the following:
People with Parkinson’s disease or related conditions will benefit from attending this program.
To begin the program all patients must be: medically stable, have a suitable private health insurance cover, have rehabilitation goals and are cognitively able to participate.
