General Rehabilitation Program
The aims of the general rehabilitation program is to restore independence and function after an operation, illness or injury.
Your rehabilitation program will begin with a comprehensive assessment with the rehabilitation consultant and the relevant members of your multi-disciplinary team, such as the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
Goals will be established with yourself and your multi-disciplinary team members and a rehabilitation plan will be put in place. Your rehabilitation will be individualised and will involve a combination of group based and individual sessions.
On completion of the program we anticipate that you will achieve or develop a plan to achieve your rehabilitation goals established with your multi-disciplinary team. This will allow you to return to your previous domestic, social and recreational activities in a timely and safe manner.
A patient following an operation, illness or injury who has clear rehabilitation goals to return to your previous function is suitable for the general rehabilitation program.
